Confidential
Your privacy matters. What you share in counselling is treated with care and confidentiality.
The Safe Space Counselling is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, call 999 or attend your nearest Accident and Emergency department. If you need urgent emotional support, please contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
Counselling sessions cost £50 per 50-minute session. A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available depending on your circumstances. Please contact me to discuss current availability.
You can use the contact form or book a free initial consultation through the website. I will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss availability and the next steps.
Not at all. People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be struggling with something specific, feeling overwhelmed, noticing repeated patterns or simply wanting to understand yourself better. You do not need to wait until things feel unmanageable before seeking support.
Counselling is not about telling you how to live your life. Instead, I will help you explore your experiences, understand your choices and develop your own way forward. I may offer gentle reflections, questions or practical approaches where they feel helpful.
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, please provide at least 48 hours notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice may still be charged, except in exceptional circumstances. Full details will be included in my counselling agreement.
Yes. I offer a free initial consultation so you can tell me what you are looking for, ask any questions you may have and decide whether I might be the right fit. There is no obligation to book a counselling session afterwards.
That is completely okay. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out or know where to begin. I will work at your pace and support you in exploring whatever feels most important.
Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgement. It can help you understand yourself more deeply, work through difficult experiences and find ways forward that feel right for you.
Yes. What you share in counselling is treated with respect and confidentiality. There are some circumstances where I may need to share information, particularly if there is a serious concern about your safety or somebody else’s safety. I will explain confidentiality fully during your first session and, wherever possible, discuss any concerns with you first.
I offer counselling to adults and young people aged 13 and over. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and have particular experience supporting people with trauma, grief and loss, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+, identity and care-related experiences.
The first session is an opportunity for me to understand what brings you to counselling. I will invite you to talk about what you hope to gain and explain how I may be able to support you. You do not need to share anything before you feel ready.
Each counselling session lasts approximately 50 minutes. Sessions are usually held weekly, as consistency can help build a trusting and meaningful therapeutic relationship. However, session length and occurence can be adapted to suit the needs of the client.
There is no set number that is right for everyone. Some people benefit from short-term counselling, while others prefer longer-term support. I will regularly review with you how counselling is feeling and what best meets your needs.
